Elias Zaarour a.k.a Zed was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. He studied Visual Arts at the Lebanese University of fine arts. His paintings are experimental studies, emerging from his need  to create images no matter the subject or technique.
He usually looks for departure points to express himself through different procedures in the usage of paints and picture making. Figures are his dominant subject, he feels like understanding people by drawing and painting them with their own fantasies in their own time and space, reflecting the dualism between their body and spirit, reality and illusion.
The search of light and colours is expressively present in his images. His visual research is a translation of an existent daily language that surround his hearing and speak to his mind.
