AN EXHIBITION OF URBAN ART WILL TAKE
PLACE IN CENTRAL ASIA FOR
THE VERY FIRST TIME AND WILL
INCLUDE WORKS OF ART BY LEADING
INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS
Art Platform curator19.90 have selected
Kazakhstan to host the largest Urban Art
show in the region. Kazakhstan is the heart
of Central Asia, a country known for its
high intellectual population and passion for
everything new and interesting. The Kazakhi
appreciate the masters of Urban Art, as it
is often relatable to their lifestyle and
cultural interests.
The Kazakhi have a love of knowledge and
pursue art, culture, and travel to truly
broaden their minds. They are always
looking for new forms of creative expression
often finding this through art.
Recently there have been more and more art
events in the region such as ‘Art Bat Fest’
and the exhibition ‘V Musee.’
The renowned Rasmus Ejaas Fisher from
Denmark is the lead curator for the show. He
is chief curator at Galerie Wolfsen and
oftenconsidered one of the lead figures in
Scandinavian Urban Street Art. Fisher’s
curatorial style is both dynamic and
interesting as he is both a professional
curator and a collector.
The show will take place at the
architectural masterpiece Almaty Villa
Boutiques and Restaurants of which many
consider it to be the pearl of the city.
Artist Morten Andersen will headline the
show and will be having a live performance
at First President Park. The work that is
created will then be donated as a gift to
the citizens of the city as a memory of
the Urban Dawn exhibition. Other artists
that will be included are Misha Most from
Russia, young Danno, Loro Verz from
Brazil, STROK from Norway, ASHEKMAN from
Lebanon and many more amazing talkents
from all corners of the world including
Europe, Asia and America. On opening day
guests will have the opportunity to enjoy
a DJ set by Maiden Obey,
a curators art tour and a fashion
surprise in collaboration with an Urban
Dawn artist. An additional program will
take place through the month including a
movie premier, master classes, lectures
etc. Curator19.90 is an international
project that connects artists, curators,
developers, and new rising talent.
«WE WANT TO CONTINUE THIS DEEP
INTEREST IN ART IN KAZAKHSTAN WITH
URBAN DAWN.WE HOPE THAT URBAN DAWN
WILL ACT AS A PLATFORM NOT ONLY AS
AN EXHIBITION BUT ALSO AS A PLACE
FOR ARTISTS BOTH NEW AND OLD AND
ART LOVERS EXPERIENCED OR NOT TO
COME TOGETHER TO COMMUNICATE. WE
WANT IT TO ACT A PLACE FOR OPINIONS
TO BE DISCUSSED AND EXPERIENCE
EXCHANGED. WE HOPE THAT YOUNG
KAZAKHSTAN ARTISTS CAN ALSO USE
URBAN DAWN AS A PLACE TO MEET BOTH
LIKEMINDED INDIVIDUALS AND
INTERNATIONAL CURATORS»
– says Timur Tuleu, one of the exhibition
curators
