John Newsom is a painter residing in New York. Recent exhibitions include a ten-year survey exhibition held in 2015 at MANA CONTEMPORARY in Jersey City. A hardcover catalogue was published  on the occasion, with a text by Barry Schwabsky. Upcoming exhibitions include his fourth one-man show at Patrick Painter Inc., Los Angeles as well as a group exhibition in Berlin with Andre Butzer and Albert Oehlen.
Newsom’s work is included in numerous private and public collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, The Whitney Museum, The Brooklyn Museum, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Hammer Museum, Yale University Art Gallery, The R.I.S.D. Museum, and The Neuberger Museum. He is currently represented worldwide by Patrick Painter Inc. in Los Angeles California.
